Wallaroo

Age: 4

Dam: Dance Quest

Sire: Austrailia

Horse History:

Wallaroo was owned previously by top French owners, The Wertheimer Brothers and stabled with Carlos Laffon Parrias in Chantilly. The name Wallaroo stems from his pedigree, as he is by the stallion, Australia.

Australia, was a 16hh colt trained by Aiden O’Brien who progressed into a champion 3 year old, which is of no surprise as his ability matches an incredible pedigree. Australia is by Galileo out of Seven times Group 1 winner, Ouiji Board. Australia’s record on the racetrack is being matched to his progenys, having sired 12 individual Group winners in 2021.

Wallaroo although never being raced in France had been given a good sound education ready for his racing career which encouraged Ivan to take him on as a backwards looking 3 year old. Working with him until he was ready for his debut track run in the UK.

Ivan has since given Wallaroo three runs to get handicapped and find his feet and confidence on the track. He needed to learn about trip as he does show enough speed for 7 furlongs. He has not been pressed for maximum yet as the team believe he is well handicapped off at 6 for the time being. He is a great sound fun horse to be involved with. He has been a little immature but now that he is strengthening and developing he is enjoying his job and proving to be a real contender.

The concentration with Wallaroo at the moment is to look towards the all weather campaign over 8 furlongs and focus on the new winning pots available for the monthly competition for the BHA new all weather prize money initiatives.

Listed below is more information on the new initiative which Wallaroo is going to be aimed at…..
